Initial rental
An initial rental is payable before or at collection, subject to the written agreement. This is a rental payment rather than a finance deposit and it does not give you ownership of the vehicle.
PAYMENTS EXPLAINED
Rent2Buy has a different payment structure from traditional finance. There is an initial rental, agreed monthly rentals and, after successful completion, a current final purchase option of £99 + VAT.
An initial rental is payable before or at collection, subject to the written agreement. This is a rental payment rather than a finance deposit and it does not give you ownership of the vehicle.
Rent2Buy agreements commonly run for around 36 to 48 months, although the exact term and monthly amount depend on the vehicle and individual agreement. The written agreement also sets out the payment date, mileage allowance, maintenance responsibilities and any excess-mileage or other applicable charges.
After all required rentals and agreement conditions have been successfully completed, the current final purchase option is £99 + VAT. Once that purchase option is exercised, ownership can transfer to you. The van does not automatically become yours simply because the final monthly rental has been paid.
Current scheme information also refers to a £200 vehicle reservation payment when an approved vehicle is reserved. This is separate from the larger initial rental, and the team should explain exactly how it is treated against the balance due before you proceed.
No credit check and a £99 + VAT final purchase option are major benefits of the scheme, but the exact rentals, term, mileage limits and responsibilities are always governed by the signed agreement for the chosen van.
